Please note that this post about trust reflects solely my personal perspective, thought processes, and reactions. It is not meant to be an absolute definition of trust, but rather my own interpretation. I sincerely hope that it has not offended or conflicted with any of your personal beliefs regarding trust.
Hello readers! Today, we’re going to talk about the big "T" word: TRUST. In this complicated world of trust, we all have trust issues.
Don't worry folks, I’m not here to give you a step-by-step guide on how to heal from broken trust. Everyone's mental health journey is unique, so why should we all try to heal the same way?
Instead of focusing on the healing process, let's have a fun little reading about the word "trust". So, what is trust? Trust is one thing that we give to people we love so that they can betray us in the end, lol.
Let's be real. Trust is hard, it is harder to find these days! When you meet someone for the first time, what's the first thing you do? You try to establish trust, right? You ask questions, you make eye contact, and you try to find something in common. But what happens when that trust is broken?
Trust is like playing a game of Jenga, but instead of wooden blocks, it's made of promises, one wrong move and it comes crashing down.
Have you ever been let down by someone you trusted? Maybe it was a boyfriend, girlfriend, or even a best friend.
Let me tell you about this girl's story, let's call her Anushka. Anushka’s boyfriend made some big promises, like, "We're in this forever; I can't imagine living without you; it's always us." And she was all like, "Aww, this is so sweet; he is the one," and then, as expected, he vanished into thin air like a magician. It's like he's allergic to commitment or something; he broke them all, leaving her in pieces. When she asked him about all the promises he made, what did he say? "Oh, those promises? It was a lie".
"Lie!" What is he, a storyteller? We all have such Oscar-winning storytellers in our lives, right? But I am sure he had a perfectly valid reason for breaking all those promises with her; maybe he joined a secret spy organization that required him to break all his relationships. So, he had no choice; he had to come up with some lame excuses and leave her.
Talking real, When it comes to commitment, there should be no room for excuses.
Back to Anushka's story, it got me thinking: can she ever trust another guy again? It's a tough question. I mean, this guy broke all those promises. It's like he promised her the moon and the stars, but all he delivered was a pile of dust and disappointment.
It's not just relationships that require trust. For example, we trust our doctors to heal us or we trust our autowalah, that we're pretty sure we could close our eyes and still get to our destination.
Trust isn't about being perfect. It's about being honest. Talking about honesty, listen up, readers! I know that when it comes to relationships, we all want the perfect person, but let me tell you something: perfect doesn't exist! but what does exist is honesty. So forget about finding Mr. Perfect. Instead, focus on finding Mr. Honest.
Let me drop some truth bombs. If someone is treating you like yesterday's leftovers, just show them the exit door. Because, dear reader, you deserve better than that.
We all have stories of trust broken, whether it's a partner, friend, or family member who let us down. But sometimes the greatest betrayal comes from ourselves. When we don't trust ourselves, we lose faith in our abilities and our worth.
Let me tell you a story about a time when I had trust issues with myself. You can't blame me for having a trust issue, ok? Because I have a history of making terrible decisions. But then I had a lightbulb moment and realized that if I didn't trust myself, who else would?
Trusting yourself may seem scary at first, but when you make that choice and everything falls into place, it's the best decision you'll ever make.
Let me share a piece of advice that can save any relationship, whether it's with your partner, family, or friends. Here's the thing: Don't believe everything you hear, especially when it comes to gossip. Remember, every story has two sides, and the gossiper might not be telling you the whole truth. So, be a detective and investigate! Ask the person for their side of the story and get the full picture. Who knows? You might just prevent yourself from getting caught up in unnecessary drama. Trust me, it's worth it!".
If you ask me if we can trust someone again who broke our trust, I would like to use the stories in the Mahabharata to explain this. People say all the answers to life are in Mahabharat. I believe that the Mahabharata has solutions for every life story.
The Pandavas lost everything in a game of dice, including Draupadi, to their cousins, the Kauravas. Draupadi was humiliated, and she turned to Karna for help but Karna did not stand up for her, which broke her trust in him.(Karna did not help Draupadi during the game of dice because he was bound by his loyalty to Duryodhana, who was his friend and had given him shelter when he was in need. Karna also did not want to go against the rules of the game . As for Draupadi, she did not forgive Karna easily, as she was deeply hurt by his inaction. There is no explicit mention in the Mahabharata that Draupadi forgave Karna for his actions during the game of dice and it is possible that Draupadi's feelings towards Karna may have changed over time. The interpretation of whether Draupadi forgave Karna is left open to the reader's interpretation, and different versions of the story offer different perspectives on this question) The story of Draupadi teaches us that sometimes it's okay to hold a grudge against those who have wronged us and that forgiving them may not always be possible or necessary.
The second story is about Karna. He was born to Kunti, before she was married, and was abandoned by her. He was then raised by a family from a less privileged background and grew up to become a great warrior. Karna faced discrimination and rejection from society due to his low birth.
When Duryodhana, saw Karna's abilities, he was impressed and offered to make him the king of Anga. Duryodhana wanted Karna to reveal his true identity and caste, as he believed that Karna was a high-born warrior But Karna had been keeping his true identity a secret for a long time, as he had been rejected by his own family due to his low birth. He refused to reveal his identity and caste to Duryodhana. This broke Duryodhana's trust in Karna. Despite this, Karna remained loyal to Duryodhana and continued to fight on his behalf until his death.
This story teaches us that sometimes people may make mistakes, but it is possible for them to regain our trust by their actions and loyalty.
So we can forgive someone for breaking our trust, but that does not mean we have to forget what happened or trust them blindly in the future.
Always remember that any hard phase you are going through is temporary, and you will heal from it with time. Taking care of your physical and mental health should be a priority. This can include engaging in activities you enjoy, practicing self-care routines.Remember that healing takes time and patience. Trust in yourself and your ability to overcome any obstacles. So, dear readers, take care of yourselves and focus on building a strong support system. With time and patience, you can heal and move forward in your life.
Thanks for stopping by and reading my post. You're the reason I keep my fingers typing and my coffee mug full. Keep being sweet!
